I could not help but notice the pure beauty in her eyes
Like she was "Love" itself, smoothly moving in disguise
The glare from her stare could make a stern man weak
drawn in by the heat every time that her warmed hand reached
She was a blessing to know, and always had so much fun!
Never used drugs and despised them like they took a loved one.
We grew up next door to each other, plus I was boys with her brother
and I've always felt for her deeply, but never voiced that I loved her
I used to walk her to school. She'd let me hold her hand.
Our fingers rubbing, she asks "think u'll be my husband?" I said "I surely hope I am!"
But as the days turned to years, we grew apart from each other
I took off to college and she stayed, not wanting to part with her mother
4 years in school, I visited home short times in the summers
I never seen her, but her brother told me she had her life in some blunders
He said she started doing drugs ever since she found her new boyfriend,
and he thinks she's shooting up heroin and says that stuff is like poison!
He told me that she looks much different, like she aged a whole lot
and that her teeth are getting bad like any day they'll all rot.
I couldn't believe this! To me she was, the same beautiful girl I've always known!
Maybe she just needs me in her life again, because without me, she's all alone.
I ask her brother her number, for an hour I slumber, then I call her phone
and let it ring and ring continuously, until eventually, all I got was tone
A couple of weeks had passed by, and I still hadn't seen her yet
It was like she was just a figment of my imagination, like we never even met.
Then, the day that I was scheduled to return back to the campus
her brother said she's coming home, most likely to borrow some cash for her habits
standing there, baffled and avid, when a car pulled up in her drive
2 girls stepped out, running inside. But neither looked like the love of my life!
Staring hard, I take a step in her yard and yell out her name
They turn toward me, and one stopped, as her head slowly fell down in shame
Look at what she's became! My heart starts to slow as I grasp the truth
Once filled with so much beauty, one'd think there'd be lasting proof
Once like a queen, others should've called their highness
That's why not even with a picture did I EVER, .. picture her .... like this ......
